It can be difficult to pronounce for non-native speakers so, rather than just order a bottle and learn more about the wine, we often pass it over and order something that doesn’t make us look like bumbling fools in front of the sommelier. And we miss out on one of the great wine regions of the world – a region that has been cherished for its wine for centuries – a region where over ten percent of the citizens are winemakers.
